Since 2005 I have been exploring fiber as a creative medium. My work represents a conduit through which I channel my experience as a member of the African Diaspora and as a woman in the world.

Improvisation guides my inspiration through mixed media on textiles. I meld hand-painted and commercial fabrics to create abstract art that explores color, shape relationships, pattern and rhythm, while also expressing a sense of community. Hence, use of text runs throughout my surface design combined with collage, painting, printing and other techniques.
